Cost of Wedding Bouquets?

I'm trying to work within my budget for my wedding. I want to use the following two bouquets in my wedding. The first is mine and the second is for my maids. I really don't want to get in touch w/ a florist quite yet, b/c I'm sort of still a little far from my date. Plus, I want to be informed on about how much a design like this can cost. I'm all for doing my research and homework, so I can speak confidentely w/ the florist and be able to negoiate prices.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows about how much these two would cost. They are both silk, in the pictures. But, I want real flowers for my wedding.

Also, how much did you spend on flowers for your wedding? What kind did you have, etc.

Try this link, print out the pictures you found and ask your local florist for price and what you want, this is the closest I saw to yours. Hope you have a blessed Wedding Day!
Reply:Those are both really beautiful! Sorry, I wouldn't know what those would cost.

We spent just over 700 for our flowers. My bouquet was a handtied European bouquet, of a big variety of flowers with a few roses, carnations, stargazers, alstromeria, etc. It was about 100, and the florist made up a throw-away bouquet for the bouquet toss. My attendants had smaller versions of mine, and I think they were 50-60. Had boutonnieres of mini carns for the guys, corsages for special people, and that total cost from above also included two or three floral arrangements which we used on stands for the church, and later used at the reception at the head table.

Good luck!
Reply:Those are beautiful bouquets!! You have great taste.

The flowers themselves are not expensive but the blue hydrangea might make the price a little more expensive. It really depends on which florist you choose though. You should try calling some friends or family for referrals.

I'm getting married next month and I am using peonies for my bouquet and my bridesmaids will have peonies and roses. My florist said that usually people budget 10% of their wedding budget to flowers. I spent $5000 and will be getting a lot because I was referred to her by my wedding planner.

Good luck and I wish you a lovely wedding day
Reply:I will give you mississippi quotes since I was a florist here for 2 years.....may vary extremely tho!

for yours, the hydrangeas will cost you between $8-10 per stem. I would say 4-5 of them for your bouquet. The roses should be around $3-4 and I would think you would need around a dozen. The little white flowers are stephanotis and are a hawaiian tropical flower and are very expensive....possible as much as $10 each. I would think you would need several as well. A good average of it all would be the $150 range here. However, it will depend on the actual florist. Some are just better at jackin the price up! For the bridesmaids, the hydrangeas would remain the same and I would guess 3, and the white flowers their are fresia, also a more expensive flower...I would guess mid range $35-40ish a peice.

Take these pics and go talk to several florists. ask for referrals from friends. Get them to give you price quotes and compare them when you get them...they should give you something very detailed with totals and description of the flowers included. Once again, I don't know your location of florists you have in mind....so I may be severly low-balling you here, but that is what we would have charged at the shop I worked at! Hope it helps!
Reply:you know silk flowers are so much more practical and cheaper.and they last forever.and now adays they are very realistic.then you could make your own bouquets.practice first!i never made one till now,i am doing all the flowers for my sons wedding andso far they look great!give it a try, then if you are not happy go to your florist.good luck!
Reply:You really would need to speak to a local florist as prices vary so greatly from town to town, even from florist to florist. My bouquet is similar in shape to yours and is costing me around £150. Again it depends whether your flowers are in season at the time of your wedding.
Reply:I got a bouquet similar to your maid's bouquet for my maids (green hydrangeas with green hypericum berries and greenery around the outside). They were $45 each.

I'm not sure about your bouquet. Mine was hydrangeas with hypericum berries and mini callas and tulips and greenery for $120, I think.

I'm in the south suburbs of Chicago, so the pricing might be different where you are.

here's a pic (it's not great, but you can see all the flowers)

Reply:You could call around to some florists in your area and just ask about pricing. And since you already know what kind of flowers you want, that will be helpful. Prices can go up or down depending on what flowers you use, and whether or not they are in season at the time of you wedding. And just because you are shopping around and getting prices, doesn't mean you have to commit to any particular florist.
