They are on Long Island. They did my wedding and were awesome. I don't know if they will do NYC but it couldn't hurt to call.

They did my friends wedding and they liked them. I believe they weren't too expensive either. I think both are florist wholesalers - who only do weddings and events.
Reply:there's a michael's in queens in northern boulevard around 50 something street if you want the fake flowers even though i don't like the fake flowers idea especially if you are having a nice venue.

the chelsea wholesale flower market which is in 13th and 9th is a great place for flowers even though you don't really get the flowers at wholesale price.

As you know because you live in nyc is that every few blocks you have flower shop that are part of stores and they have beautiful bouquets for $10-$15 dollars. what i'm doing is buying those flower arrangements and turning them into bouquets and you can't get it any cheaper than that plus they are real flowers.
Reply:I don't know about NYC, but if you have a Michael's, I would look there. At the Michael's local to my house, they have premade little floral bouquets, that are $7.99 each. You just have to tie something around the stems and they look really cute. Go to Michael's website, which is simply enough Michaels.com, and in the search box, type in bouquets, and if you go to the third choice down, which is floral bouquets, you can see a picture of them. I think they look very real, and as long as you wrap the stems, nobody will know! And it's pretty inexpensive if you ask me. Oh, and they tend to have springy colors and summery colors. =)
Reply:I think that if the venue blew your budget then maybe an alternative needs to be looked at. Why have a high priced venue with fake flowers??? Is there not an alternative? Even Sam's club has flowers.....I am sure you can find cheap flowers from somewhere that are real.
Reply:Try freshroses.com. They are a grower based out of California, but will ship anywhere in the US. They have pretty good variety.
Reply:Costco sells flowers wholesale. You can order them online and they ship them to you. You could get your family to help and make some really simple arrangements yourself ??
Reply:Sometimes you can rent silk floral arrangements. Check if you have a Michaels or other Craft shop nearby.

How about using some life plants instead of flowers on your tables as well?
Reply:if you have a membership at Costco or Sam's Club, you can get flowers for extremely cheap. Like 125 roses for $60.
Reply:I'm sorry I don't know of any. But friend who didn't have a lot for flowers bought real flowers for the centerpieces but had silk every else and nobody knew!!!

If that helps at all :)
Reply:Costco and Sam's Club usually sell flowers in bulk. You can also order fresh flowers online through 2groses.com, theflowerexchange.com, growersbox.com. Supermarkets, farmer's markets and corner bodegas also sell them as well, so scope out your neighborhood and see what you can find. And some supermarkets have floral departments that'll actually put the bouquets/boutonnieres together for you (just as good as a "regular" florist), so ask about that.

You may also be able to go through a "Regular" florist if you pick cheap blooms. Ask for pricing on flowers such as in-season roses, gerbera daisies and carnations. Explain that you are on a budget and tell them what you want to spend, tell them how many arrangements you need, tell them your color scheme or theme, and they should be willing to work with you.

The fresh flower websites should have tutorials on how to put together your own bouquets and boutonnieres, and centerpieces. The Martha Stewart and Real Simple magazine websites, and theknot.com, also offer photo and video tutorials. Here's a sample: http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/pho...

It may be easier to scrap the floral centerpieces and do something else. Not only will it be easier, but it'll likely be cheaper, and you can put it together beforehand instead of rushing around that morning trying to arrange fresh flowers. Try something like votive candles surrounded by river rocks or fresh petals; a potted plant from Home Depot or a supermarket; or a simple tealight lantern: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/produc...

You *could* do silk flowers, but a lot of them look like crap and are obviously fake. Plus, you may spend just as much on good (or even crappy) faux flowers as you would on fresh flowers. Of course, do what you want, but I'd recommend going fresh and keeping it a bit classier. Unless you find really good silks for a good price.

Another option is bouquets/boutonnieres made of crystals or colored, twisted pieces of metal: http://www.gweep.net/~saki/albums/weddin...
