Want to use rose petals lining the isle at my wedding. Anyone have ideas on costs for bags of rose petals?

Also, where I should look? As far as a florist or somewhere else?

Platinumhen - I also cannot use real ones because I'm getting married in a historic chapel - original hardwoods from the 1800's.

You can also buy silk ones here:

Reply:I got a decent sized containter at my florist for $10.
Reply:We went to a super Target store and bought all of the largest rose bouquets in the cordinating colors of my daughters wedding. We then proceeded to tear all of the heads off/seperated petals. We then stored them in an airtight container in the fridge until the day of the ceremony. Easy and the cheapest bet. Good Luck....Dee from Melbourne Florida
Reply:if u dont mind having fake flower petals go to michaels and they are like 3- 5 dollars a box
Reply:FREE-Just ask your local flower shop if they could please save the petals they sweep up on a nightly basis and put them away for you. Tell them you would be more than happy to spread the word about how NICE they were to all that will attend your wedding. Stores know that word of mouth is the best way to get noticed. That's what I did for my sister when she got married.
Reply:A friend of mine used a lot of rose petals at her wedding. She went to a local grocery store that has a floral department and they sold her bags of flower petals for 99 cents a piece. Just ask ahead of time. They make a lot of flower arrangements for people just to pick out and buy, and they always have some that the flowers get too "over-bloomed" and they then take those apart and throw them away. If you ask ahead of time they will take the petals off of these flowers and bag them for you. The petals are still in wonderful condition, just the flower as a whole was not. She got a great deal at only 99 cents a bad when floral shops were wanting between $20 to $30 a bag. Never hurts to ask. Real petals look so great and if it is outside you don't have to spend time cleaning them up because they will just decompose, but if you use silk petals each one will have to be picked up and being that they were $5 a box you might battle with just throwing them away. Hope this helped! Good luck and congratulations!
Reply:you can always go to your local florist and you can also go to joann fabrics or somewhere else like that........also the correct spelling for isle is asile.
Reply:You can usually by them at Wal-Mart or craft stores for fairly cheap. Another great place to by wedding stuff is EBay.

BTW "I can answer it 4 U" if you are going to correct people's spelling, you might want to make sure your own is correct. It is aisle not asile
Reply:I have a link for a site that ships them to you....I haven't ordered from them, but it at least gives you their price and gives you an estimate of how many you will need...

Good Luck and Congrats!
Reply:I just seen fake (so real looking ones) at Michaels craft store and even at some dollar stores. And they were obvioulsy dollar bags that held allott. And I think they run about $4.99 a bag at the craft store.
Reply:Hi, I'm not sure where you are, but I am a wedding planner in Toronto and when my brides need petals I usually go to a flower wholesaler and I can get a bucket full for about $5.00. Try a wholesale florist in your area. Good Luck!
Reply:This company has freeze dried ones, which is great because otherwise they'll wilt and shrivel. $30-50

You can also use silk, which look real and keep their shape/color for under $3.00 a box. I used these and they looked fantastic

Reply:You could also order extra roses and take off the petals yourself. It is cost effective because you pay for the packaging when buying from the florist as well as the craft store when buying petals.

OR

Go to a wholesale florist who actually sell petals by the case.
Reply:If you have a wholesale flower district, you can buy huge bags for about $5. Another idea is to ask someone with a rose garden.
Reply:I got silk ones in bulk on Ebay for half the cost of stores like Michaels Craft and Walmart. I used the left over roses to decorate inside my new china cabinet and put a few in my photo album after the wedding. Good luck and Congratulations!
Reply:I am planning my wedding and have opted to use silk flower petals rather than real ones.

I bought some off of Ebay and others from a wedding store (ABC Weddings) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

In general, I would say that they are approximately $9.00/box or bag.

You can easily search for them online, either Ebay.com or on a search engine.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Go to your local grocery store that has a florist, my mom got some really big bags of real petals for around $4.00 each at Publix! They just wanted her to place the order 1 1/2 weeks before she needed them. Congratulations on getting married!
Reply:You can get fake ones at Wal-mart for around $3 or real ones at the floriest for aroun $30.
Reply:If you want real ones I'm not sure, probably a florist would be best. However, if you don't mind fake ones (since you will be walking on them anyways...) Oriental trading online has some and also check places like Michaels or WalMart. Goodluck.
Reply:i bought my petals at hobby lobby during their wedding sale. you should really check there..they have a ton of different colors. i think i got around 100 petals for 5 bucks.
Reply:I had silk rose petals, I purchased them on ebay. They were a couple of dollars plus shipping.
Reply:Check out eBay, you can get silk petals pretty cheap.
Reply:mine are from a florist at 35$ for a kilo bag in australia
Reply:I'd talk with the florist. It could wind up costing a lot. Perhaps if you live in an area (like LA) you can go to the Flower District and get them wholesale.

Another thought is go to the craftstore and buy the 10ft garland strands of the fake ones, then cut them off.
Reply:my florist is charging me $17/box and contains the petals of two dozen roses.
Reply:You can look at your local craft stores for boxes of silk petals. They run between $2 and $4 for about 200 petals. You can get them online at almost any wedding favor site. http://www.orientaltrading.com has them for $3.95 for 200 petals and they have dozens of colors to choose from. Hope this helps. Congrats.
Reply:Silk flowers-cheaper for one. i went to the dollar store and picked out the prettiest ones, bought like 5 bunches and cut them out.Way cheaper and they really are the same thing.
Reply:First check with the location of your wedding and make sure they do not have a problem with it. We cannot use real rose petals at our wedding because it may stain the carpet (yes I am serious). Then you can go to several places to find them. Actually the cheapest route is the dollar store and buy the fake roses and clip off the petals. It is much cheaper than anywhere else. But you can also get them at Michael's or any other crafts type store.
Reply:If you do not mind fake, try ebay, I have found reasonable prices there.

I am buying heart shape ones for my wedding on ebay...

Reply:You should just get fake ones because they do look real and they won't stain. They are sold at michaels and walmart.
Reply:I don't know if you have a Giant Eagle where you live but you can buy them from there for only $3 a bag. just trying to help.
