I'm trying to find a florist, photos, etc and I'm going crazy! HELP!?

I'm planning a Houston wedding and still can't figure out which vendors to go with. I've checked websites, but has anyone actually worked with a person and can tell me they didn't get ripped off? What's a good price?

I'm trying to find a florist, photos, etc and I'm going crazy! HELP!?
Easy go to http://www.weddingchannel.com and you can ask other houston brides on the communit forum and you can search for vendors in your area.
Reply:in your last post asking this someone said they knew some people for this, why not email them and check out their suggestions. If that isnt satisfactory CALL the referrals from vendors until you find one who is truly up to your desires.
Reply:Are there Price Choppers in your area? I am getting my flowers from price Chopper for my wedding......I priced around with florists and they were literally double the cost. It has been great working with them, and I got to see pictures and such too....beautiful flowers.

If there isn't one in your area, I would suggest looking into a similar type of place that may have a florist shop inside of it. It's always a good diea to get price estimates from people before committing to anything. Plus, consider how the place makes you feel....are they organized and informative or disorganized and flighty? You need to be comfortable with them, regardless of the cost.

Good luck!!!!
Reply:Before you hire someone, meet with them. They have portfolios of past weddings for you to view. Ask for references from previous brides. Call these brides and ask questions.

Photos are priceless. It's the one thing I wouldn't skimp on- since they will last longer than the food/cake/flowers/dress etc. Expect to pay around $2500-$4500 for a good package and a talented photographer. Make sure that you will own the digital negatives. This way, you can print out photos for years to come (and make albums for your friends and family).

I can't stress enough how important it is for you to meet the vendors first. You need to be a good match w/ your photog. and florist. You need to see their work and get a feeling for their style.

Good luck- take one thing at a time. Get a notebook and seperate into sections for ea. vendor. You can keep their contracts handy and a list of correspondance and billing. It really helps.

Hope this helps!
Reply:Umm... the only thing I could say to you is that you should a price estimation for each and see is the cheapest. That's how I could do it.
Reply:I used theknot.com and I posted and asked people in my area- I need a good quality and a good price. I set up appointment- you should always try and see a couple of people. And it really worked out!! Everyone people suggested were great and a good price. I would try it- it's free to join and people are soo friendly. One girl even sent me her wedding pictures so I could see the photographers work!!
