Any ideas on florists around Batavia, IL area

Great idea.

Do them yourself...easy and fun to do. Just make sure you set aside the time to do them, have the ribbon, florist tape and wire ready...and of course your best girls! They can each do their own bouquet.

Reply:Sorry, no -- I don't think roses and calla lillies look very nice together. They are both beautiful, but both very dominant. I would chose one and get more subtle flowers to coordinate.

If you picked the lillies for example, you should still get a red flower if that's the look you're going for, but roses would just compete against the lillies, not compliment them.
Reply:I think it's wonderful!

They're both elegantly understated flowers and you can make them as fussy or as minimalist as you like.
Reply:No idea on florists, sorry.

As far as the flowers go that is a very romantic choice of colors and flowers. Be prepared, though, as those are two fairly expensive flowers.
Reply:I'm doing the same thing for my wedding in September. You will want to go with mini cala lillies so they don't overpower the roses. You will end up with bouquets with more texture by pairing these flowers together. It looks beautiful. The mini calas come in hot pink, burgundy, white, yellow, orange and possibly some more colors that I don't know about. I think the orange or white would look best with red roses. Good luck!
Reply:I agree that the two together will over power each other.

I think you should pick one or the other.

the two don't *have* to compete with each other... there are some calla lillies that aren't as big as ones that you see in calla-only bouquets. I had roses interspersed with lisianthus, hydrangea %26amp; callas and they blended together really beautifully.

good luck, and congrats on your wedding!
Reply:Calla lilies are REALLY expensive -- at least they are here!! If you do go with them, I'd suggest just a few in a bouquet, an odd number looks best. Keep it simple, as they're so beautiful they don't need masses of them to be striking.

Personally, I'd go with Calla lilies and greenery, maybe a few very soft, small blooms of another species of the same color -- OR roses, but not both. They're both striking, but together they might be too much, and take away from each other.
Reply:I personally dint like calla lilies they remind me of funerals
Reply:I don't think those flowers go together very well. They each have a very different image.
Reply:Personally, i dont think they match at all and i dont agree with red at a wedding. thats just a personal thing for me though.

Its too engagement like.

Calla Lillies are beautiful but go better with casual dresses, smaller amount of guests, and a more relaxed scene, like a beach!

I have no idea on florists.

but maybe red and white roses?

or just calla lillies?

good luck

and congrats.x
Reply:i think it would be pretty but if your on a budget you need to be careful with calli lillies, they are one of the most expensive flowers. they are sooo elegant
