I'm doing my own flower decorations (with the exception of the bouquets and such) for my wedding. Along the aisle, I'd really like to have vases with flowers in them on each side, something very similar to this:

What kinds of flowers is it best to do that with? Is it something I can do on my own, or should I just give in and have the florist do it? If I have it professionally down, is it a really expensive option? Thank in advance!
What's a good flower to emerse into a tall vase for a wedding decoration?
Most lillies work well.Do you mean the isle of the church? I helped cater weddings and they may get knocked over so be careful. If you can do it yourselfthat is good but when I did my daughters wedding I had to much the morning of the wedding because I did not recruit help.Get plenty of friends to help if possible.
Reply:Calla Lilies would be striking.

Any flower with hard, waxy petals. The ones in the pictures are mini-Calla lilies and Cynbidium. Other examples: Dendrobium, Anthurium. Avoid flowers with soft petals, because the petals could come off and float to the surface.

You can do it by yourself.

That obviously depends on a florist, the kind of flowers you want to throw in, and whether you or the florist provides the vases. Even if you choose a florist to do this, you could save by 1) providing the vases by yourself, 2) choosing relatively inexpensive flowers (such as Dendrobium), and most importantly 3) being flexible in terms of what you want.
This last point is often overlooked by many brides. The more "picky" you are, the more expensive your wedding flowers would most likely become.
