I need to find an inexpensive photographer and florist for my wedding...any suggestions?

Contact local schools in your area. See if you can find some a couple college photography majors who would be willing to take the pics and put them on a disc for you, then you can just order copies of what prints you want. A lot of these students will do the work for free if you allow them to use the pictures in their portfolio. You can make the flower arrangements yourself. Especially if you are going with silk flowers.

I'm making the rose spheres as bouquets, but there are a ton of good ideas on that website.

You can also save a bundle on floral centerpieces by getting cheap glass vases at biglots or a dollar store and just put some marbles in the bottom and a few of your choice wedding flower

Get creative! Do you have any friends who fancy themselves amateur florists or photographers? You can go with them, as long as they have the appropriate know-how and equipment for what you want.

If not, try calling the church or venue where your ceremony will be held to see if they have any recommendations. A lot of churches have Flower Guilds, which are usually groups of older ladies who have an interest in gardening and provide the church with flowers for events such as weddings, funerals, etc. They are usually available free to church members, or for a small fee. Also, look up local garden clubs, nurseries, etc. who may donate their flowers or charge a very small fee.

For photography, you could hit up some art colleges or free universities and see if any photography students would like to make a quick $100 by doing your wedding. That's way less than what a pro would charge, AND they have the necessary equipment and knowledge, so the pics will still turn out well.

My fiance is lucky enough to work at a company which produces catalogs in-house, so he's asked the catalog photographer to do our wedding, I think for free!

As for flowers, I'm going low-budge- Costco, here I come!!!
Reply:At the end of the day, your photos will be the only thing left besides your new husband so you don't want to skimp on those.

For flowers, are you willing to do your own? Flower wholesalers online and downtown in many larger cities are cheaper than regular florists.

Check out the local chat boards at http://talk.theknot.com for ideas since many are brides in the process of planning with budgets and newlyweds with reviews of who is good and who to stay away from.
Reply:Try craigslist.com - I found my photographer there at a great deal - and she did a fantastic job.
Reply:I'm using student at a near by arts school who is looking to gather photos for her portfolio. She is also a freelancer for the local paper.

As far as flowers, I'm using silk flowers. See link below
Reply:Ask friends and family for ideas or if they know of anyone that does it on the side for extra money that has a very nice good camera! That will help for good pictures! My sister did that and her pictures were wonderful! and better than mine!
Reply:It would be easier to help with the photographer especially if we knew your location.

For flowers you could always save money and get really creative by doing them yourself. I am getting married Nov 1 and I am doing all the flower arrangements myself (with the help of my bridesmaids). :0)
Reply:My sisters saved tons of money by having silk flowers instead of the real deal. They were beautiful!!! And bonus - they don't wilt!!! So, by the end of the day in the hot sun, they still looked wonderful!

As for Photos, you can check the local schools, some HS and collages have photo classes, with some pretty talented students.

Good luck!
Reply:video/photos certainly go for a college major in photography.

Firstly they are dead cheap.Easily find one for $100 because he rather do few hours of work in a field he loves on a saturday and only cost him burning couple of $2 DVD and his time with free food ,then flip burgers all day and come out with $50.

They tend to do good work too.

My cousin literally paid for his equipment and feeding by doing wedding photos and he charged about $100 or so.
