Reply:i loooove calla lillies, i want them in my wedding. if you have a few months til the wedding, these flowers grow easily and cheaply in any shady area, they also multiply like crazy! i would grow your own callas and buy the stargazer. (i dont know anything about growing those.) also, if growing them isnt an option, then use only a few callas, maybe a couple for your bouquet, and a few for centerpeices. then use look alikes for fillers, easter lillies and lilly of he valley look alike. also, you cant use callas in corsages anyhow, so a look alike is your only option there. good luck and congrats!
Reply:Order your flowers loose (even through a grocery store floral dept. - can be WAY cheaper, but check around) and whatever you do, don't tell them they are for a wedding! They double or triple the price - arrange them yourself or with friends in the morning or the night before - it saves TONS of cash and that way you still get what you want. :)
Reply:It depends on where you are, what time of year you're having the wedding, and how many you want. If the flowers have to be shipped in from overseas (ie South America) that adds significantly to the expense. Rather than getting your heart set on a specific variety of flower, which may not be in season locally when you're married, ask your florist for in season recommendations. I would think $1500 would be plenty for a floral budget, unless maybe you're in New York City. Congrats!
Reply:Sure if you budget---you could do it for $300 but you don't get many flowers.
Reply:I had stargazer lilies and roses and for my bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 6 little girl's bouquets, 7 boutenairres, mothers corsages, grandma corsage, unity candle arrangement and 2 baskets of flowers for the altar, it was a little over $500.
Reply:If you find or think the florist is too high try doing the flowers your self that means you get up at the crack of dawn try heading down to the flower district and get the flowers and put them together but keep in mind you will not get the freshest or nicest and probably pay more than you bargain for supplies and no tax i.d. # pay twice as much. try something different like roses and lemon leaves for luck or try simplicity less shows more....
